Last year, my sister sent me three individual signs to post in my office. They read, "Yes, Yes, Yes", "Why not today?", and "Write". This was her subtle way of telling me that I needed to get focused and get writing. Her instructions were to place the signs above my desk so that everytime I sat down and gazed upward (which I often do when contemplating my life), I would be reminded to write. But it wasn't just the focus on writing that stood out for me in my sisters call to action, it was the embedded message that time is of the essence. We've all heard the phrase, "don't put off until tomorrow, what you can do today" yet it seems that the idea of wasting time becomes so subconciously embedded in our thoughts that "tomorrow" turns into next month and next month turns into next year.
This is where I saw myself dwelling every year that I excused time wasting bad habits, time wasting activities, and time wasting people. So, the question, "Why Not Today?" begins and ends here.
Not only will this blog serve you, my readers who I hope are there enjoying what I have to share, but it will serve as a catalyst for me to complete my novel. I'm giving myself 6 months, the same amount of time off that my most recent contract stated that I needed to be on hiatus (good grief)! How will it work, I will start the writing process with a blog post...that's it. Every post will be the start of at least three hours of dedicated writing time, more or less. Maybe, if I am brave, I will share with you excerpts of my novel for your candid feedback.
But, that's not it! I aim to post highly whimsical, thought provoking commentary about life outside of my cubicle. You will gain access to journey with me into where, I'm not 100% sure yet, but it will be fabulous none-the-less. And let's just say right now, this is not one of those New Year, I'm motivated for the month phases that will fizzle out just as quickly as it began. No, this is my life with or without you (but I truly hope with).
Very nice, very nice. I'll have to make sure to keep up with your blog.
The clock begins young lady. My bday is in June, so I expect a rough draft of something as a gift. Hence, I will unwrap you in the process. Thanks for the invitation.

Very nice Takeisha. I already let you know that you inspire me and Im sure the same is true for others. Of course we'll keep reading and waiting to hear more. Good job!
I love the this and can't wait to go on the journey with you! Let's see what you have to say, I'm sure whatever comes out of this will be great, no matter what.
Count me in! Hopefully, I am one of which you may not want to do WITHOUT? I am with you all the way. Me personally, I always tell people that I do not make resolutions just promises for self innovation. With that being said, good luck on your journey or, should I say god bless? The anointed neither relies on nor need luck, faith escorts us to victory. Keep faith within yourself, as I will be rooting for you.
XOXO
Takeisha I'm so excited and privileged to share in your experiences through this blog. I wasn't aware that you were writing a novel and I wish you all the best in that endeavor. You definitely are still the same warm kindred spirit that I remember when I first met you. God Bless!
