Takeisha Rayson
If you read my post "Who Is David Martin?," you would know that on Wednesday of last week, I recieved an invite to a birthday party celebration for the name in question. After a quick Google search, I speculated that David was either a musician or NFL player.  Friends, I have to tell you that I was wrong and reveal of David Martin is not as exciting as I imagined it to be. On the contrary, I had a fabulous time with my friend and noted fashion designer Jennifer Garcia of Vim Trousseau! This serves as a note to everyone that even if situations, decisions, or people don't end up turning out how you imagined them to be, you still have the opportunity to make the most of it or them.

So, who is David Martin. He is a Los Angeles event coordinator who founded and operates The DM Group, a night life marketing company. After meeting him and telling him about the mystery that surrounded my invite to his party. He said one of the most memorable things of the night, besides Jen stating that she's not attracted to the type of guy that wears Cool Water colgne. He said, "I'm happy you took a chance and made the choice to come celebrate with me tonight." Take a chance and make a choice are the very words that embody the idea of Why Not Today. Was this meeting some sort of affirmation that I am doing the right thing, at the right time, with the right people? I would hope so.

As you will see from the pictures, we hung out, laughed, and then made our way Downtown Los Angeles were Jen and I ran into Mario Prins, music industry coordinator and publisher.

You see, friends, I believe that everything in life happens for a reason whether you choose to pay attention to that reason or not.  All we have to do is decide how we choose to participate in the life we are given.  Will you be cast as a star, co-star, or extra? The choice is yours...I choose star.

Speaking of stars, I just saw Monique win a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture and her speech struck a familar cord for me. She told her husband at 14 years of age that they would one day be stars and now she thanks God for being able to live her dream.  For most of you that know me, I have professed that one day we would all look back on memories of our aspirations from the place that was once just that, an aspiration. With a glimmer of hope in my eyes, I have looked at most of you (whom I hope are reading my blogs) and thought about how our lives would change together...for the better. This hope remains and even through the act of my writing process, I feel as though we have already made it!  Why not share in this feeling with me today?

Moments In Time

The photo of you finally meeting David Martin is so PRICELESS! LOL, I can so feel the energy! Super cool. I feel what you're saying. It seems as though my family and friends have been right on time and saying all the things that I've been needing to hear (hint, you calling me out the blue the other night and the conversation we had). Also, I'm not one to watch much television, unless I get wrapped up in current events. Lately, I turn on the television and whatever I am viewing seems to speak directly to me thus pertaining to a feeling I may be having at that moment. Most of the time, those feelings have question marks behind them. Even strangers have been encouraging me. I took my sister to the doctor for my nephew’s first check-up and sparked a conversation with her physician. We talked politics and morals, by the end of the conversation, she was giving me her personal number and e-mail and telling me that if I ever needed a recommendation, she would be more than happy... same thing goes for a Lawyer I met while attending a settlement case with my cousin. I feel like divine intervention has been presenting itself through you all. With that being said, I chose to be a star a long time ago... my biological engine just needed a little but now I am juiced up and ready to take on the world!!! See you at the top. ~~smile~~ Nice post Keish. Keep 'em coming.

  2. Yes, K, that is exactly it! The time is now to act upon everything that is being presented to us in our lives. I can't wait to participate in all that you have to offer. Do It, Be It, and Live It!

    Much Love!

Thank you for being the person that you are. I appreciate your friendship and adore your enthusiasm. Rather you know it or not... you're already a star and have made it to the top but there is nothing wrong with adding finishing touches, with a coat of protective paints; to a masterpiece.
